'Lifesaver (hands on hips)' 2016
Oil on Canvas, 1015mm x 1015mm
Ever experimenting with process and technique, Pete always produces several lines of work at once. From his watercolour and ink illustrations for books and publications, political and satirical oil paintings exploring subjects as varied as exponential growth and spinal cord injury, private portrait commissions of people and pets or his latest body of work which revolves around beach life.
Pete is a painter and illustrator from the UK. After breaking his neck in a surfing accident at Bondi Beach four years ago, he set his sights on becoming a professional artist.
After tackling some difficult subjects for his last two bodies of work Pete has decided to embrace the surf culture he moved here for and have fun painting whatever comes to mind for a while. From famous surfers to cute lifesavers, 50’s pin up girls to modern surfer girls, Pete’s paintings celebrate his love of life by the sea.
